Juliet Shepherd is the Technology Led Development and Cold Weather Testing Project Manager at Fairbanks Economic Development Corporation (FEDC), and works closely with universities, researchers, governments, local communities, businesses, startup teams, and investors, to increase the flow of scalable startups and exports from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the Interior.

A seasoned supply chain professional, communications agent and strategist, Juliet was a founding member of tech startup Fairbikes – a bikeshare designed for small and rural communities incorporating the first lock-release smartphone bikeshare system, and winner of the first Fairbanks Startup Weekend in 2013.Juliet has a degree in Integral Intermedia from Mills College in Oakland, California and, following a Fulbright Fellowship in Bulgaria, came to Fairbanks in 2003 to work with startup Grantstation.com.

A founder of the Innovate Alaska (2.0) collaborative effort to diversify Alaska’s economic base, and the Year of Innovation Cycle, Juliet works with partners across the state to grow Alaska’s entrepreneur ecosystem, help encourage exports and import substitution businesses to innovate, and grow the next generation of Alaska entrepreneurs. Juliet represented Interior manufacturing businesses on the recent Governor’s Opportunity Alaska China Trade Mission.
