Business Development Officer | Alaska Division of Economic Development
Penny Gage was born and raised in the communities of Pelican and Sitka in southeast Alaska and is a Sealaska shareholder. Gage gained experience in the nonprofit sector through service as a community health volunteer in Nicaragua with the U.S. Peace Corps and as a grant-maker at the Rasmuson Foundation. Through work and school she has visited villages and cities in Alaska from Kotzebue to Ketchikan. Her previous work experience with the Alaska State Legislature, a U.S congressional committee, and the private sector in the oil and gas industry gives her a broad, multi-sectoral perspective. She holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Communications from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Master of Science in Foreign Service with a certificate in International Business from Georgetown University. In her spare time, Gage enjoys hiking, blogging, dance, and attempting to learn Portuguese.
